Koi Fish Information

Koi Fish is a huge cluster of fish that are originally found in Asia and Central Europe wherein it is commonly used as pond fish. The term “Koi” is a Japanese expression for carp. It has been said that it was in around 1820′s when Japanese started breeding Koi fish. Due to the extraordinary charisma of koi fish, assortment of patterns and colours has been formulated. It is also ideal to put lilies on your pond that serve as a sun shelter for your fish.

Lilies have different groups; some grow in shallow water and some in deep water. It gives the same benefits for the fish protection and at the same time attraction for insects that serves as food. Plants can attract insects, since koi fish are omnivorous type they can feed on the insects that come in and munch on the larva within the pond.

They love to eat lettuce, peace and watermelon aside from the pre made koi food that we commonly give. Koi fish have the talent to be familiar with the person who feeds them and will come near to them during feeding time, so it is not strange to say that the owner trained them well to eat on their hands.
